Rise Summer School: Ysgol Haf Codi

Are you studying Art at 6th Form and looking to explore different Art mediums in the summer holidays? 

This summer school is aimed at boosting your confidence moving into your A level studies and preparing you for University Open Days & Interviews.

 

This summer school is designed to help you explore your strengths and develop your confidence whilst experiencing different Art & Creative Practices.

Local artists will work with you on the different techniques and help you to build portfolio skills in a relaxed, safe non-judgemental environment.

 

When:

July 1 st through to July 30th

 

The summer school will be 10 sessions on Tuesdays and Wednesdays 10.30 – 2.30p.m. throughout July.

 

Content:

A combination of practical and confidence building workshops.

Setting Intentions and Themes, Building Resilience, Growth Mindsets, building your Artist Statements, exploring Abstract Art, Jewellery Design & Making, Paper making, introduction to Stained Glass, exploring Printmaking techniques, Facial Planes in Portraiture & Painting in Cubism Style.

 

Field Trip to the Photography Department at Swansea College of Art Showcase to celebrate.

You will also get the opportunity to display your work at the end of the project.

 

Cost:

£45.00 contribution per student towards materials.

Includes a portfolio / A5 journal, refreshments and all materials.

  • Who are you?

  • Tell us something about your art. What is your creative style? Your preferred medium? What inspires you?

  • Who is your favourite artist and why?

  • What are your creative goals for this course?

  • What creative aspirations do you have for the future?
