Lilian Hopkins
I qualified to teach art and mathematics in the 1970s but during my teaching career I exclusively taught Mathematics in various Secondary schools in London and South Wales. I have always kept painting and since taking early retirement, I have devoted myself to producing artworks full-time.
I write the online blog "Art By Lilian" which shares my artistic journey.
I have exhibited my artwork online and in galleries in Cardiff, Swansea, Llandeilo, Carmarthen and the RCA at Conwy.
My style has evolved from a largely traditional approach to the mixed media modern portraits, landscapes and abstracts I now produce.
My focus in recent months has been to further develop a body of abstract work inspired by elements of geometry and deep space imagery and it is the careful selection of an appropriate colour palette which makes each a highly distinctive original artwork.
